Linda Gould is honored at the JCRC Annual Meeting

At the JCRC Annual Meeting Award Ceremony, Linda Gould was honored for the volunteer work she does. Below are some pictures from the event along with a letter written by Rabbi Paul that he requested be read at the meeting since he was not able to attend in person.

Dear Linda,

We are deeply sorry that we cannot be there with you this evening but wanted to take a moment to acknowledge you and your service to the Jewish community, all of which is being honoured tonight by JCRC and the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey. You have been a member of Temple Avodat Shalom for over fifty years and have made a considerable impact in our congregation and all of its activities. You are the first person to put your hand up to help feed those who are hungry and in need of a meal, to advocate for a cause and join a bus trip to Trenton, to share in an education project or class, to engage in dialogue with a person of another faith, to welcome a congregant or a stranger into your home and invite them to become your friend, to sing in our choir and bring joy and music to those who are infirm.

You are an exemplar for all of us. You embody what it means to repair the world, to act selflessly and lovingly, in support of and with devoted care to your fellow human beings. We are honoured that you are a part of our community, and we pray that you will continue making a positive difference, in all that you do.

Mazal tov on this very special achievement.

Rabbi Paul Jacobson, Audrey Rosenblatt, and the Temple Avodat Shalom Community
