Butterfly Project Display In The Temple Lobby

As you enter the Temple, please take note of the swarm of butterflies hanging from the ceiling in the Lobby. They are part of the Butterfly Project. It memorializes the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust and honors the survivors. The documentary,  ”Not the Last Butterfly” is a moving film showing the hope and courage of the children in the camps during World War 2. The project was a joint event which we co-sponsored with the River Edge Library, among others. We are honored to have the butterflies grace our Temple and will remain here until after the High Holy Days. When you come to the Temple next, look at all the butterflies which were decorated by children in our community. It is truly a sight to behold.
